The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show was certainly a hit for 2016, with people coming from far and wide to view the many exhibits and of course, Advance Turf was sure not to miss out on the fun, participating in the King’s Pride Soft Leaf Buffalo stall! The show was an overall success, but if you missed it, don’t worry – we’re here to tell you why King’s Pride Soft Leaf Buffalo was so popular amongst the attendees.
So what makes King’s Pride Buffalo different to the others? Predominantly it’s superior shade tolerance compared to most Buffalo’s on the market. King’s Pride is known to maintain its winter colour better than many of the leading buffalo grasses. Kings Pride also produces less thatch meaning that it is easier to mow and can be mowed at lower heights compared to other varieties of soft leaf buffalo.
Like most Buffalo varieties, King’s Pride is drought hardy, thrives in the sun and has a great wear and tear capacity. This is why this Buffalo is commonly purchased by families with children or pets, because it is fast repairing and hardy enough to handle foot traffic. Additionally, King’s Pride is renowned for its softness, even when compared to other Soft Leaf Buffalo’s! The old common varieties of Buffalo often caused skin irritations to young children and pets, but the Soft-Leafed nature of the newer types of Buffalo ensures that little hands and feet can play freely.
This non-invasive grass is extremely popular with our customers, has a gorgeous colour and is easy to maintain. We love it!
